How this tool works

Choose a length and which character types to include — uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols — then click Generate. The password always includes at least one character from every type you selected, and is built using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same one used for encryption keys.

Why length matters more than complexity

Each additional character multiplies the number of possible passwords, while adding a new symbol type only multiplies it by a small constant. A 20-character password using only letters and numbers is typically much harder to crack than an 8-character password stuffed with symbols. Use the longest password a site or password manager will accept.

Privacy by design

Nothing here is sent to a server, logged, or stored — every password is generated and displayed entirely on your device.
